Quarter 1, Week 8 - Communicative Styles Part 4

 

This week is our completion days for us to have a chance to finish all the learning task given to us. This week we have reviewed our past lesson for us to answer the mastery given to us. We are ask to make a video reading a passage 3. The purpose of doing a reading and comprehension is for them to challenge our reading knowledge about how fast we read and how we pronounce the word we must read. So far this week is a easy one because some of us had finish the learning task given so they just need to wait for the next update.



We are also assigned to do a blog update for this week posting the video we recorded. We are also asked to recall some spelling word we defined and some Anglo- American Literature Icon and the past discussed figure of speech like Metonymy, Onomatopeia, Litotes, etc.

Quarter 1, Week 7 - Communicative Part 3

 

This week we reviewed further about communicative style. We had a spelling bee about an unfamiliar word that can help us to our English understanding. The spelling word we discovered are dysfunctional, bookkeeper, neophyte, novice, indict, etc. We also learned about the Anglo-American Literature Icon Hellen Adams Keller, she born on June 27, 1880, and died on June 1, 1968. Hellen Adams Keller was an American author, lecturer, etc.

Hellen Adams Keller was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, she died at the age of 87. She lost her sight and hearing at the age of 19. We also discover the inventor of the phone Alexander Graham Bell. We learned a new figure of speech which is Litotes. Litotes is an ironic understatement in which an affirmative is expressed by the negative of its contrary. We also gave examples about Litotes. We discuss our learning task and performance task, especially on doing our blogs for us to be creative in doing it.

Quarter 1,Week 6 - Communicative Styles Part 2

 

We learned about a new Anglo-American Literature Icon know as Mark Twain but his real name is Samuel Langhorene Clemens an American writer,publisher, lecturer, and an entrepreneur. Mark twain is also called or known as "The father of American Literature". We also learned about the figure of speech Onomatopoeia a figure of speech where the word is used to describe a sound. We discuss about Communicative Styles like casual, formal,consultative, frozen,intimate, and we review it. Mark Twain have many written books like his novel " The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" (1876) and it's sequel, " The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884).

We gave examples about the Communicative Styles and about the figure of speech we tackle this week. We also give more brief explanation to our lesson so we can understand it more. Mark Twain was born on Nov 30, 1835 and died on April 21, 1918 at the age of 74.

Lia, Belaya, and Lucienne place a date for them to finally meet up after a month not meeting each other because of the pandemic. 

Lia: Hello! guys where are at now?

Belaya: Ohh... I'm sorry I'm gonna be late. (text) OTW ( on the way).

Lucienne: Ohh... we understand we'll wait for yah!

(Lia, Belaya, and Lucienne arrived and finally saw and meet each other....)

Lucienne: Y'all not gonna believe this!!...

Lia: What is it lucienne ?!?!...

Lucienne: Well uhmm... I got an honor this quarter!!!..

Belaya: Woahh!.. that's great, I wanna be honor to but how??

Lia: Belaya, we all know you can do it just keep it real...(Point to your heart)

Lucienne: I agree to lia, you're cool and great...

Belaya: Ohh.. BTW (by the way)...I got my new iphone!!!...

Lia: Ohh come on.... SML??...just kidding...

Lucienne: Guys I wanna tell you guys that we're going home late.... HaHaHaHaHa...

Belaya: Yahhhh!!!.... why didn't you check the time (laugh) .....

Lucienne: Ohh...sorry (laugh) sorry.... my bad...

Quarter 1, Week 5 - Communicative Styles Part 1

 Paragraph style:

We learn about Communicative styles, their types like Casual, Formal, Frozen, Intimate, Consultative. We also learned about the Anglo- American Literature Icon Charles John Huffam Dickens an English writer and a Social critic. Charles John Huffam Dickens novel and short stories are widely read today, he died at the age of 58. I  learned about the figure of speech Metonymy, a figure of speech which is the substitution of the name of an attribute or adjunct for that of thing meant. We also learned about the word Jargons that means special words or expressions that are used by a particular profession or group and are difficult for others to understand.



For me, the highlights of the discussion are the types of Communicative Styles. The learning tasks are easy to do and very understandable. We also do a spelling bee.

Quarter 1, Week 4 - Understanding Conditionals Part 2

 

Paragraph Pattern:

Our topic is about conditionals and it's types, we review what we learn and differentiate each type, we also give some examples in a sentence. For me the task are just okay ,it's easy to understand and I could see the improvement of my writing skills.

We learned a new Anglo-American Literature icon Joanne Rowling,also know as J.K Rowling and an British author who wrote Harry Potter. We also learned new word by the spelling assessment like plateau, epitome,etc. We learned an figure of speech, we discuss the figure of speech Irony. For me the highlights of the discussion is still the important, meaning and it's types  of Conditionals and how to identify them in a sentence.

Quarter 1 - Week 3 -Learning Conditionals

 Paragraph patters

Our topic in week 3 is about Conditionals. Conditionals help me to know what word to use if I was in the middle of the argument especially when there are debates. I also learned the types of conditionals like the Zero Conditional, First Conditional, Second Conditional, Third Conditional. We also learned about the anglo-American literature icon Edgar Allan Poe and we had a spelling quiz to test our knowledge about deep English words.

All I can say about the Learning tasks is it very helpful for me to help me improve my English knowledge, especially that this helps me to identify things/words being ask. I also learned the types of conditionals like the Zero Conditional, First Conditional, Second Conditional, Third Conditional.

If I only study hard, I would have been a top student at our school.

If I could be a top student at our school, I would throw a party to celebrate my success.

If I would throw a party to celebrate my success, I have to study hard for my exam tomorrow.

If I could study hard for my exam, I would have been a chance to achieve my dream to graduate and be a top student at our school.

Quarter 1,Week 2 -Learning Modals-Part 2

 Paragraph pattern:


We reviewed how modals are used in the sentences and what are other modals we can use in a sentence. All I can say about the tasks is that it is very helpful for me because it helps me to see and manage how my English life goes by this subject. I have learned a new app that helps us to make a journal about our subject English and it also develops my knowledge about using modals not just by the use of asking permission or stating a question. Well at first I have a hard time to get enter the page and sign at the page but now I know how to use it. For me, the highlight of the topic is that we are going to do an activity that involves our English journey and also manage to practice in writing in the language English.


Dialogue:

Luna and kierra are both new to this system of education so they still need to adjust from this situation.Things have change including  our daily routine  and our schedule this time of pandemic.

Luna: Kierra have you done your assignment?

Kierra: No, I haven't done it yet for now I need some time to rest.

Luna: Oh...okay but don't forget to do it,you must know that it is part of our responsibilities to pass it                         on time. 

Kierra: Yeah, I know that I can do that later, it's just I'm still adjusting from this setup. 










Luna: I understand your situation, we have to under go to this setup in order to safe and continue our                 study. 

Kierra: I agree,oh.. by the way I'm going to buy groceries for this week, do you want something?

Luna: Nah, I'm good ohh... don't forget that you must wear face mask and face shield when you go                  outside.

Kierra: Oh... I almost forgot about it, I might still adjusting.

Luna: You must not forget it,you might get a violation for not following the rules.

Kierra: Yeah... thank you for reminding me, you can stay here while I'm out.

Luna: Okay..Bye,stay safe.

Kierra: I will.
